Title: What has eaten my pea seeds?
Post by: Mrs Ava on April 09, 2004, 23:19:48
I don't think it is mice, as I was able to find some of the seed, but I planted a row, and about half way germination stops dead.  When I looked for the seed, the ones I found had weeny little holes in them, as though something very small had taken a fancy.  Is it a critter, or is it cold wet conditions? ???

Hi EJ, if you dissect the seeds you might find tiny, tiny grubs inside, these are the pea and bean seed beetle larvae   :)   Don't think you can do much about it, I just pop another one in and hope!!  ::)
