Title: Cauli,Cabbage,Kale Problems
Post by: Biscombe on September 24, 2006, 10:23:32
Hi all, Sorry to be so needy of late! As well as battling with harlequin sods and CWB, nearly all my romanesco cauli look like this, even my newly planted kale have it!!

I've been looking into what the problem may be and can't find anything. My first thoughts was Cabbage root fly but the plants would droop, and mine aren't drooping! I've just planted out some greyhound cabbage and don't want the same thing to happen :( Any tips? :'(
New Kale  :'(

Never seen anything like that Biscombe.... possibly swede midge damage? Thery are common in spring but perhaps the warm wet weather has brought them out early?
