Title: Shallots - are they the new black bucket
Post by: mc55 on September 20, 2006, 17:32:42
:( so far had no success finding any shallots in shops / garden centres.  I know I can get them on line, but its always a bit of a lottery as to when they'll arrive.  Can anyone name a nationwide supplier, or somewhere in Huddersfield / Sheffield that I can try.

Finally got some Japanses onion sets from Wilkinson, but they don't know if they are getting any shallots in this season (as there is no space for them in the garden section).

Help !

Been into Wilkos in Rochdale today and they have no onion sets...grrrrrrrrrrrr. Have you tried Gordon Riggs at Walsden near Todmorden?

Katy, I had to look really carefully - they were on the same display as they tulips / daffs / crocus / Allium bulbs.  The chap I asked told me they didn't sell them (!)  They've got a cardboard front and are called 'border beauties' 90p for 50 bulbs..

I'll checkout Gordon Rigg's site - ta
