Title: Displaying Dahlias
Post by: Lazy Daisy on September 20, 2006, 13:29:33
Had an idea how to display Dahlia's differently. Just had a gem of an idea but did not know if it would work or not but had a bash. Have to say that it looks stunning. During the day with the sun  on the bowl the heads look like jewels. During the evening the candle makes the heads glow. I am very pleased with the results. I am sure you will be too. The photos don't do them full justice

That is a beautiful display of Dahlias, well done.  Good idea.  I leave the Dahlias outside cos they seem to be full of 'forkers'  or ear wigs in English.  I just hate seeing them beasties crawling out of the lovely flowers.

;) ;)

They are in a Gold Fish Bowl. You can get them from small (6"dia) to gigantic (36"/38") They are so versatile. The one in the picture is the medium one. 1' high, 18" dia. Despite their name I don't recommend them for fish.

I agree, that is absolutely gorgeous!  Would look stunning on a dining room table with the candle as a centre piece for and intimate dinner.  Devine!
