Title: Celery problems
Post by: Biscombe on September 17, 2006, 12:34:39
HI all,
I have been growing Celery Geant De Romange and Celery Giant Pascal, When they started getting tall I blanched a few plants by wrapping cardboard around them. The unblanched celery is quite fiberus and green, and the blanched was eaten by wood lice! they chewed all the centre of the stalk out (despite this the plants looked beautiful!! I can't win can I!! Anyway the question is can anyone recommend a self blanching type??

I've always experienced the 'self blanching' claim to be a bit of a myth but will be intrigued to hear of success from others as I am about to order new seed  :-\
