went shopping this morning and had a trolley pushed into the back of my legs i fell backwards over same trolley and landed on my arm.have just got back from hopital and will be in plaster for 6 weeks. i am sure gonna get irritable. please forgive all the lower case as i ve only got one hand and its the left one and of course i'm right handed
Oh poor you! What a pain (unintended pun...). You must be really mad at that trolley driver - one of my pet hates is inconsiderate people with trolleys.
Hope you'll still manage to do your gardening?
Mend soon!
;D
was it an accident, are you going to complain to the shop?
so sorry to hear your news shirlton :'( :-*
hope you mend well, all those fresh veg will help :-\
grrr@the person who pushed into you with the trolley :(
can you still supervise with a fractured arm? :)
it was an old lady, well older than me with her shopping trolley. tony will have to do everything. poor dear. lol. i wouldnt mind but she just buggered off after while i was still on the floor. i will just have to get used to doing everythig with my left hand an delegate the things i can't do. tony will have to do my moms cooking and stuff now while i supervise. never know i may get to like it lol.
Oh Shirl, what a horrible horrible thing to happen and not the nicest old lady either >:( It's going to be a tough 6 weeks til the plaster comes off.How B. annoying that a) it happened at all and b) that it's your right arm :o Thank goodness Tony's around to help you...and your mum.
All the v.v.best, Lishka
Really sorry to hear that. Those trolleys can be lethal in the wrong hands. Sounds like she is one of those "bargers" as my girls call them.. I often find myself being careful then someone barges past me. Oh Tony, hope you have plenty of aprons ready for the next six weeks!!
Oh Shirley, what a bugger! GRRR again at the old lady that argy bargeyed you! Very inconsiderate! However, on the up side, get plenty of R&R so you mend properly.
There has to be a PI claim there - should work out at about £3000 plus pain and discomfort - plus any loss of earnings, but my knowledge is a bit rusty now - every cloud has a silver lining.
I know how you feel Shirl, its very frustrating, get well soon /shades :-*
Hope that the pain is easing and that you mend well ;)
had quite bit of discomfort in the night but had the pills this mornin and getting a bit better. beat tony at snooker llast night on pc, made him play left handed.lol. am finding out just how useful my right hand is. so pleased that i have good hubbie. we have to go to the plot today to pick the beans again.guess who's gotta pick the dwarf ones. hehehe. i am so glad that i joined this site cos at least i can talk about the gardening stuff even if i can't do it. will keep you up to date with the antics. thaks for the sympathy

hi everyone, went to the hospital yesterday and they put me another cast on. i'm sure this one is even tighter than the last one. i'm really getting p****d off with the situation. i didnt realize just how much i liked to be in control of things. am finding it very difficult to keep my mouth buttoned when tony is doing things different to what i would have done. poor sod sat for 3 hours the other night slicing beans. he's gotta do it all again today cos they are growing so well. i'm afraid the housework is piling up but will soon get that sorted when i'm out of this straight jacket. will keep you up to date with things. nice to have a moan ain't it
Carry on moaning Shirley if it releases a bit of your UGH feeling. I bet Tony is doing jobs he has never done before, well done to him. Keep smiling at him ;D ;D
got my appointment through yesterday to have the plaster off (hopefully). It's the 25th october. hope i can stand being imprisoned for that long. Tony said that i hit him in the back with it the other night.I never felt a thing lol.
Sorry to hear about your arm Shirley and hope it is better soon. :D
they have brought my appointment forward to the 18th thank goodness, I week less to put up with this straight jacket. Went up the plot to plant the garlic this morning and a fox or something had managed to get under the enviromesh and must have panicked cos the support sticks had been broken and quite a lot of spring greens had been broken off. My pet rabbits have had a feast. At least nothing gets wasted in our house. Im gonna have to think of another w ay to fasten the ends down.
Well folks "Todays the day". My appointment is at 3.15pm. I 'm having this contraption taken off. Will I be glad. I haven't been online for a couple of days cos weve had the windows double glazed and pc had to be moved. Ive got loads of cleaning up to do curtains to wash and iron now that I have my right arm back. I hope I never have to go through this again. It's like being in prison. I must thank my Tony for being so long suffering cos Ive been a complete pregnant dog some days.I am afew days late with sewing my sweet peas but they will be ok. Will let you know how things go. I just hope they don't make me keep it on for another week, omg don't bear thinking about.
good luck shirlton, hope this is you after the appointment :)
