Went to the plot today - I ate a WHOLE watermelon for lunch!
Whilst weeding in amongst the pumpkins, I saw my poor watermelon plant, that had struggled from day one, had finally pegged it, so I pulled it up. As I pulled, there, hanging on the end, about the size of an apple, was a watermelon. I peeled it, and it was pink and juicy and ripe. I had a WHOLE watermelon for my lunch. ;D
;D ;D ;D
A lot more exotic than my unexpected bonus...stripping out a past-it cucumber plant I found 2 huge beauties. Thought that only happened with courgettes ::) ;D
No - I've done that too. Often on the floor at the back of the bag. Pity, because it stops production in its tracks.
