Title: Little Toot
Post by: Heldi on September 06, 2006, 21:23:27
Don't put mashed potato into your cup of tea...it aint good...especially when you take your last swig.

My Little Toot starts nursery tomorrow  :(   I'm sad as this is the end of me and her and our days alone together. :'(  I don't want to give her up...but I know she is ready.  She's doing afternoons. 12:30 til 3:00. I'll never be away from that school...her brother is there so I go there in the mornings too. He's an "old one" now because he started 4th year today. His last year at that school. Big sigh.

School uniform is not compulsory when they are in nursery and no way is she wearing one. I feel she's too young to be institutionalised lol!  The school can tell me how messy her clothes will get all they want...because we know what having a child and an allotment is all about don't we folks  ;)  :D I have faith in my washing machine,it deals with chicken poo and soil on a regular basis...play dough and paint will be a push over.

Loved the piccies Heldi, they grow all to soon, don't they. But just think of all the 'perfomances' and assembleys and sports days etc. to come.I loved all of that. Each new stage has it's best bits.    Happy days ;)

((Hugs)) Heldi.
I know the feeling my youngest chick started school on Tuesday :'(
Tears all round, I had to walk out of the classroom with her crying and begging mummy to take her home. She was a little bit better this morning.
Just hope she will be ok next week then its full days!

Hope little toot enjoys her first day at nursery.

TGF  :D

Know the feeling, my second youngest starts mornings next week... but will still have littlest at home with me for a bit longer... I should be used to it by now, as went through it with the older 2! ::)

Heldi and others, I feel for you, I remember it well, but Emaggie is right and there will be exciting times ahead.  Just enjoy every stage with your daughter, they are precious times.  Mine is off to uni in just over a week - that's really scarey, reckon I shall be on here a lot then to take my mind off it!

Good luck!

Thankyou.  Knew you'd understand.   I've been blubbing  ::)  Can't remember feeling it as hard with her big bro. I was excited for him and he didn't even look back once!I was upset yet happy for him, I'm happy for Tooty too, she'll be in her element!  I'll take a goodly amount of tissues for the walk back home  :)

Things back to normal after school tomorrow, son has already invited a classroom friend home for tea! He really didn't want to go back to school today but he came out all smiles.

Good luck to all our children.

I know she will have a great time, and you will have a miserable one, but that is the pleasure of being chief mum!  Sending you all a great big cyber hug!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY LITTLE TOOTS!

Toot is now in nursery!  She had no complaints,I asked her if I could go and she said yes...she was already playing with some cars on the floor !  She's got the ballerina picture by her coat peg. Things are looking up... myself when I was little and my son only got the boring old apple picture  >:(  :D

I walked home with damp eyes but happy that Toot felt at ease in her new surroundings.

The house is really quiet .

Bless her, the feeling that Toot is happy is worth so much Heldi, you can relax and enjoy a little 'me-time' and then look forward to hearing all about her wonderful afternoon.

I still get that same empty feeling each time my lot go back to school I hate the first day back as much as they do, I want them to be on hols all the time!  I know just how you feel.

Heldi, I think it's the realisation that they now have a part of their life that does NOT include you. No matter how much they tell you about what has happened, there's still more that you don't know about!

My "baby" has just started at 6th  form college. Aaaaargh!

But if you want livening up - just shut Spook up  in the Art Cupboard for 5 minutes.....while you've got Spook, you've still got a kiddie at home ;D

Another step in growing up.. I watched him get in his dad's car and I had a lump in my throat!!!

 :'(  I'm filling up again!

Today she went in...I helped her find her fish with her name on ...and then she has to put it in the net   ::)  :D   She said she wanted to play with the sand so I said "Okay, you go and do that then and I'll see you later." She said "Okay." And off she went.  Aaaaw my little Toot!   She came home with her new little file today. We have to put a photograph of herself in it and fill in her name etc. The second page consists of a recipe for play dough and thats all !

Ah Heldi. I know the feeling but it is great that Toot is going in happy. Awful memories of my eldest daughter crying her eyes out every morning when she started infants. Pretty bad for my son (five years older) they kept putting Vickie in his class to try and stop her crying. He used to come home from school moaning about the flipping sister who they kept plonking on him. LOL.

Aw!! Heldi, I have just seen this post.  Lots of hugs to you, as I know what it is like to have to let your baby go.  Worse for the Mum than the little one as she is probably having a whale of a time! It is the end of an era for you and you are bound to miss your little one.  Glad she is settling in great, and on the plus side you will be able to expand your horizons a bit more, and think of all the great works of art you have to look forward too.  All those egg boxes stuck together and painted with sticky goo that are supposed to be a train of something!  Also you have got all those lovely little Christmas home made calenders to be given and all those school concerts to enjoy!  Ah!! Happy days! love busy_lizzie

LOL! Lorna I can just imagine what your son thought of having to keep holding his little sister's hand!

Hi Busy!  I think it is the end of an era thing that really got to me.

Toot has had a busy day today. Collecting the eggs and then off to town to choose some new clothes and then to the pet shop to get things for the rabbit and guinea pig. She is shattered. I wonder what she will be like next weekend after a whole week of afternoons at nursery ?!

I knew she would have a good time.  My number one son is hating being back at school - hard for me as his sister adores school, and I did so I find it really strange that he doesn't.  His new teacher is a lovely, kind lady - daughter number one thoroughly enjoyed year one with this teacher and can't understand why he doesn't like it.  I'm afraid he is a mummies boy and would be quite happy pottering around at home with me.  Glad toots is being so cool about school and enjoying it.  Makes life so much easier for you emotionally.....well....in the one sense..... :)

My son has said he doesn't like school from about year one...maybe it's a boy thing?  I know he gets a  little bored sometimes so I'm always pleased if something sparks his interest.I like to see him get animated about a subject. He was quite pleased last year in the growing plants part of key stage two that they were doing because he could tell the teacher one or two things ! He hadn't really been interested in the plants bit in year one, two. Must have pressed the right buttons last year.

When taking Toot home on Friday I bumped into one of the mums going to pick up her little boy from nursery. She said "I hope he is in a better mood than he was when I left him." Showing me a bruise on her upper arm. Yikes!

Hi Caz.  All is going well. infact toots was disappionted she wasn't able to go this morning when we left her brother at school. I had to explain that her time was after lunch, that didn't do much for her so I told her her little friend was coming to play and only then was she happy to go back home!
