Title: Swan gourd
Post by: Mrs Ava on September 05, 2006, 22:46:30
These, I assume, are inedible.  However, they are so crrrrrazy looking the children have decided to use these to carve at Halloween instead of pumpkins.  ;D

amazing  :o and beautiful too, would make lovely ornaments - I always keep pumps that have failed to get big as decorative items around the house, they keep for years - I'm inspired to grow these next year, thanks

They are great.  :)

When I lived in Germany I  found their tradition of making doorstep displays of gourds and pumpkins every Autumn was lovely. Something I've always wanted to do since I've been home but never have.

I'm sure the kids will make great decorations, and a fair amount of music as they carve them!  ;D  They are as big as decent sized pumpkins, and they are still growing!!
