Exactly that! Having already processed one bucket of green tomatoes into curry, I am looking at ways of using an enormous amount of tomatoes.
Sliced into centimetre thick pieces, and gently fried. Firmer than red tomatoes, and a shade more tangy, I think they are delicious, I can understand why they seem popular in the US (according to google).
I tried them with egg on toast, and will be repeating the experience, woohoo !
i have to try that> loved the film (at the whistle stop cafe?) so must hopefully like the food too!
Do you coat them in oatmeal Curry? I seem to remember having them like that somewhere......might have been in Manhatten..... ;D.....Lovely crusty crunchy crust and the tangy juicy tom inside. YUM! Is it tea time yet?
Not yet, I wanted to taste the basic vegetable first, but I will try this next time round, now I know they taste yummy. I was telling everyone about my green tomato curry down the blood transfusion this afternoon. They probably thought me a bit loopy (probably right too :D).
Curry that gave me a giggle ;)
Any chance of posting the green tom curry recipe please Curry?
New thread maybe?
My pleasure, although it is not a recipe as such, just cooking by instinct. You will find my ingredients and method here ...
