my brother has just acquired a new allotment and I am hoping to grow some egyptian onions once i have cleared all of the couch grass.
Only problem is.... does anyone know where i can get seeds/bulbs?
they are also known as tree onions
will be really grateful for any enlightenment. any at all

are these the same as Japenese that you plant now ready approx June.There is also bunching onions which go in in spring?

Visiting a local municipal garden nearby I was taken by the use of the Egyptian Walking onions when planted up in flower beds.. they had a lot of them and just at the stage where the first tier were bending over taking the main stem in a graceful arch - quite spectacluar in a formal border.
So, I was delicately examining the little cluster of bulblets on one plant when, and you can imagine my horror, it simply :o came off in my hand !
I was mortified.
I uttered a brief 'oh dear', glanced about furtively and then quickly stuck the appealing little bulblets in my pocket.
