LL2 posted this picture of a Wildlife Tower on another forum - her next project - and kindly allowed me to post it here :o

She sends best wishes to everyone too :)
I'm intrigued. Can see how it might attract lacewings, ladybirds, bees etc but it appears to be in the middle of a plot rather than sheltered against a wall/fence which is what I thought they needed. Can you tell us anymore about it?

Sorry no G, it was posted as a link in a different topic among other pics of her lottie. I agree, it's intriguing! LL2 hasn't visited for a while as her puter has trouble with the bells and whistles here. If there are a bunch of questions I can alert her to take a look at this thread :)
What was that tower building game that was so popular, maybe ten years back. Jenga or summat? Had to pull a brick/tile from anywhere in the tower and place it on top without making the tower fall over. Reminds me of that! ;)

That is too cool 8) A piece of art in itself.Tracey Emin eat your heart out. ;D

Erm Jenga is a popular favourite today in
some peoples' homes :P ::) Last year I saw a whopper garden version - should have snapped it up in the sale ;)
thats lovely isnt it. so easy to make as well. would take up alot of room though. my kids love jenga.
love it .......sure the beasties will too :)
piece of art :)
I think it is one of the most loveliest garden creations I have seen for a long time and I could even imagine snails taking up residence as they love the holes in breeze block bricks - sited correctly it could function as a lure for snails to get them away from your produce as well as being a home for other more 'friendly' insects and animals - I'm going to make one ;D
If I could get pallets I'd deffo make one.......the wildlife would be a bonus. Fabulous piece of art. Well done LL2 and many thanks SS for posting it. 8)

You might want to add that the photo is from the Cheshire Wildlife Trust stand at the 2005 Tatton Show, I saw it in a wildlife gardening book and visited their web site and erm...borrowed the photo :)
I love it, I shall definitely be making one for my plot :-)
I want one !
THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!!!! COVET, COVET, COVET ;D

This is lovely!
For all who wanted to know how to do it, I did a bit of detective work from Lottie Lady's post and here is a link to the projects page for this tower

There are more things to do on here too - I'm off for a proper read.

Ooh thanks for that calamity. Was going to search for the very same! Printed off the instructions and also a list of butterfly plants whilst I was on. Gives me more ideas for my son's wild garden.
Superb calamity, step by step instructions! And also for a pond, which is next year's project at sprouty acres :D Thank you for digging! ;)
That link is one for my favourites. Thank you! :)
That is so good and I have just the
place for one, right in the corner of
my 'lottie. My first job to do is get
wildlife in there. as I'm just starting
out. I'm so looking forward to the joy
of choosing the plants..........and maybe
a pond .......now I'v seen how to make one. ;D ;D
HI
Were working with the black and gold project to help renovate our comunal compost area. And were going to hid at the back one of these where it will not get disturbed 2 much. Were lucky in that the allotment is surounded on 2 1/2 sides by wildflower medow so were going to site this at the edge of the site near the medow.
Cant wait.
