The guy could really sing, unlike some of these 'stars' and 'celebrities' they make such a fuss over.

The greatest showman to have ever lived.

No other live band ever stood up to his performance at Knebworth.

RIP Freddie

Fantastic voice and what a  great miss!  With today's medication he probably still would be around. Sad he is no longer around singing and performing.  :( busy_lizzie

I agree, one of the best singers I have ever heard, I saw Queen 3 days running in Wembley, they were headlining at the end of a set with INXS, the Alarm and Status Quo. They were all good, but Freddie had such stage presence

Sadly I've only ever seen him on telly or DVD - and he still blows everyone else off the stage!!! Boy could he put on a show... :'(

Cheers,
Rob ;)

Yup. Saw Queen at the City Hall, many years ago. That voice just blew your socks off.

My mum first saw him on the telly, cavorting to 'This thing, called love....' and instead of outrage, she caught the bug too ( :o). 'Freddie's on' she'd yell. And down we'd sit.

Yep, nearly sure you're right WB.  Still, it would have been great to see him rockin' at his 60th!!

Sad loss to music, and a man who appealled to all ages.  My mum loved Queen, and my 6 year old g'daughter knows most of their songs.

Actually, in our house, my hubby was always the 'Freddie' fan, me, just give me Brian and his guitar.

Have a running joke in our family, if I'm ever in a coma, and they play Brian May's 'Resurrection', and get no no response, turn off the machine!!!!!!

Queen were great and i live very near Roger Taylor but it saddens me to see them try and recreate queen, when they got Robbie Williams to perform with them and when Taylor and May appeared with that boy band 5.I just feel they should accpet its over there was only 1 Freddie Mercury and its good to see John Deacon having the respect to refuse to perform under the queen banner anymore.
I prefer their earlier stuff.

I too prefer the early stuff.  'Kind of Magic' is my favorite album.  Can be heard regularly blasting out of car window, along with Bat out of Hell, and anything by Bon Jovi.

Beats all this 'modern stuff'

Oh God, I'm turning into my mother!!!!!!!!!

Queen were wonderful, truly great and one of my big regrets in life so far was I didnt see Freddy Mercury Live  anywhere........  Me and Oh went to see 'We will Rock you' in London this june and thoroughly enjoyed the Queen music, but ......... not the same without Freddy.   :-[ :-[ :-[

I'll always remember the news breaking about the disease he was suffering from, and thinking I really should write and show some support.

Sadly he'd died within days without realising the level of understanding that he'd have received.

RIP Freddie.
