Title: Photo Veiwing Problem
Post by: Garden Manager on August 26, 2006, 11:00:06
Now is this just my computer or a general problem. Basicaly I cant see any photos at all, either new or pre existing ones. Even the links beneath some photos (where if you click on it it brings up the photo in its own window)dont work - they come up 'page unavailable'.

Now i havent changed any setting on the computer that would affect this (as far as I know), so is it a website problem?

Please advise

Edit: Been looking round and find that photos hosted on other sites (photobucket etc) sem to be fine its those hosted directly on A4All that i cannot see. I just get a red cross in a box. Clearly it isnt my computer!

Aha, I assumed it was a hit and miss thing that Dan was still sorting after the hacking affair.  I didn't realise that the photos I could see were those hosted by other sites.  Well, tis good to know it isn't our puters huh Richard.  Hopefully now Dan is aware he can look into it.

I'm looking into it (but getting nowhere fast)

Hopefully by the end of the weekend we will be sorted.

Happening here as well. Just tried to look at the "sweetcorn" pic. If I try to open it just says 404 error. Meant to ask son this morning but if others are having problems seems it is not me. (that makes a change ;D)

Just editted my sweetcorn picture Lorna, so it is on photobucket now. Since I could see it, I presumed that others also could.

I can see Emma's and Curry's sweetcorn it is Periwinkles that I can't see. When I try to open "paper clip" I get a 404 error, This applies to all the posts with paper clip.

I am glad it isnt just me then.

May i suggest that until the problem is fixed you use other hosting sites when you want to post photos. Seeing as these arent affected........ ???

Another thing I have just noticed is that i am no longer receiving any reply notices by email. For example 6 replies to this topic and no notification emails for any of them. I wonder how many other topics i am watching have been replied to and i dont know about it? Hmmm.. ???

Loss of pictures seems odd. Newly posted ones are there, but the ones in older threads have gone. For example Humming Bird Hawk Moth thread picture has gone.

All the Photo competition ones have gone too, eric. Thats what alerted me to the problem in the first place. Those were posted by Dan himself so there must be problem at 'his' end.

They should all be back, I 'fixed' it at about 10:30 last night.

Let me know if they are not.

It looks like there may be about 20 missing, the last 20(ish) posted.

I'll try to resurect them.
