Title: Black hollyhock
Post by: Robert_Brenchley on August 24, 2006, 19:02:44
I've got some seeds from a single black hollyhock; I can't guarantee they'll come true, and don't know the variety, but if anyone wants some, they're welcome.

I've posted seeds off to everyone who sent their address; if they don't arrive by midweek let me know. There are plenty more still on the plant if anyone else is interested.

Meanwhile I'm off to sort out Deeds' Crinum hybrids, which arrived this morning.

Hi Robert, you don't happen to have a couple more left lurking in the back of a drawer somwhere, do you? Love to grow black flowers!

What can you offer? I'm not fussy about getting anything really. PM me your address, and if I were you, send a reminder Friday night. Teaching is a pretty hectic occupation, and things get forgotten.

These are some of the seeds that I know I have more than plenty of at the moment.

Ipomoea - Morning Glory - Deep Blue/purple colour - don't remember what variety it is, but it looks like the "Black Knight" variety.

Sweetcorn - "Golden Bantam"

Winter squash - "Uchiki Kuri"

Chilli - "Hungarian Hot Wax"

Chilli - "Early Jalapeno"

Sweet Pepper - "Sweet Mini Yellow"

Sweet Pepper - "Sweet Mini Red"

Sweet Pepper - "Corno di Torro, yellow "

Sweet Pepper - "Corno di Torro, red"

Are any of these of interest to you?

I'd like some Morning Glories; I've never had any luck with those, yet.

It's a deal. These Morning Glorys should grow well for you (touch wood). We don't do anything fancy to them at all - and they self-seed freely in our garden so we don't even have to sow them if we aren't looking for a particularly early display. Of course they do need something to climb on, but they are very inventive if you don't give them anything. Ours usually continue to climb up into the nearby Eucalyptus tree when the support has ended. They've usually climbed about 3-4 metres up in the air by the time summer ends. Will pm you later.

Cheers
