Title: Advice on staging at local show?
Post by: sallyann on August 24, 2006, 15:46:23
Hi,

I have decided to enter some of my vegetables at a local show (entry is only 15p so I thought why not) but I have no idea how to do any of the staging!

It is a local gardeners guild which is affiliated to the RHS so I guess it will be judged according to the RHS rules.

I planned to enter...runner beans, courgettes, a vine of cherry tomatoes and spring onions (and maybe carrots if I can find any big enough).

I would be really grateful for any advice as to how I should display them. I don't expect to be placed but it would be nice to know I am entering things at the right size at least! And trimmed or not trimmed?? On plates or not??

Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks

We had our first site show last weekend; I didn't put anything in (wasn't organised), but it went well, and if they do it again, I probably will next time. Good luck to you, but I'll need help myself if I do put anything in.
