I found some very old planks of wood in the street, waiting to be dumped. We used these for the compost thing and some borders of the veg plots. They look like they came from a fence. It just occurred to me that they may well have been creosoted. Will they have any implications for the soil or compost?
Hi boxingtortoise - just guessing, but if they are that old, any nasties will have long leached out? Depends, I suppose, on whether they've got a fresh thick coating holding the few ancient fibres together?
All best - Gavin
