Title: curly beans
Post by: sweet-pea on August 21, 2006, 16:33:14
Some of my climbing french beans are ending up curly rather than straight, is this normal or is there a reason why they are doing this?

Normal (I hope!  ;))

Some of the one's I just picked looked more like pig's tails than beans!

that's good too know :-)  I did wonder whether it might be due to a pest of some sort.

I raised the same sort of question earlier in the year. My early beans were, for the most part, curlyish but latter crops seemed to straighten out!

Curly beans often seem to be the ones in which only a few of the beans develop, which is down to bad pollination.
