Title: BBC Restoration Village plea
Post by: Carol on August 16, 2006, 23:22:22
 :D :D :D

My Village, Greenlaw  in Berwickshire, is taking part in the BBC Restoration Village programme and will be appearing this Friday night at 9 p.m. on BBC2.

Our Town Hall is falling down and like all the rest of the contenders are looking for cash for restoration.   If you visit the Web site you will see what a handsome building it was which  is in the centre of our village.  I have also contributed all the historical stuff to the web site.

I would be delighted if some of my A4A friends watch the programme and look out for me.....  also vote for us.  thank you.

The phone number is  09013 600 500  to vote closing on Sunday 20th Aug.

That is a great building Carol, coming from the industrial NW I have been appauled by the loss of so many fine chapels and mills... the downside is I won't be watching as We don't have a TV!!! Sorry..

Great site, Carol! Very informative. Will definitely vote...feel I have an important stake in it as one of our buddies is involved!

Watched the 360 pic of the building and nearly fell off my chair! You could sell that as a white knuckle ride!! lol

Seeing as good old A4A had been sabotaged on Fri night, did anyone watch the programme?

Oh well, never mind, there is no harm in trying to get votes for my home town.

Phone   09013 600 500 and vote for Greenlaw Town Hall.

At least I am persistent..... ::) ::) ::) ::)

Voted - the journey North on Friday was so bad with the weather I only just got in in time to see it.

Now I have an idea of what salmon go through swimming upstream!  Never seen so much water lying on the M6.
