Title: conifer question?
Post by: baggieboy on August 16, 2006, 22:37:22
Hi there i've cut all the conifers down so the stumps are about 4 inches high.

Do these and the roots totally need digging up?

Will the roots harm my veg crop next year even if i'm using raised beds?

Was just wondering as i don't fancy digging up loads and loads of stumps and roots....

thanks

Cutting them down kills them, so the stumps won't be doing anything. They may be in the way, however.

Amcide from the Organic Garden cat will speed the decay process, drill holes in the stumps from the cut surface down and pack it in!!!
;D

The worst they can do is grow toadstools. They could be in the way if you want to dig that spot, but that's the only thing.
