Last year I made a few jars of jam. But hubby don't like it >:(
So I thought for a change to make dry prune like the one brought from shop.
Please anyone can teach me how to make dry prune please?
I guess Yuet, the thing to do is get a good amount of plums, split them in half and remove the stones, then place them on wire rack - like a cooling rack, and place that in your oven on it's very lowest setting. I can't imagine how long it would take to dry them properly, possibly over night. I imagine the dryer they are, the longer they will keep. If the sun comes back out, you could try putting them in the garden in a super sunny spot, but you would need to put netting over to stop the wasps and flies messing about with them.
Thank you EJ ;)
I was thinking do I needed to boil it first or not!
Thanks for your help ;)
I will try it later on this week :)
No Yuet, I wouldn't think you cook them at all, you are trying to dry them out. If you cook them, you will make them to tender. Good luck and let us know how you get on - I am hoping to get some plums from the inlaws at the weekend!
