I got these from Tesco's years ago, and they've become one of my favourites. Ignore the background; a wasp got on Namissa's pillow at 5.30 this morning and stung her, so we were both very rudely awakened, and haven't been at our best today!

I think they are very under used - beautiful things.

I have three large pots full and they are doing their thing now.  Very easy to grow from seed and they only take a couple of years to start flowering - I grow more and more every year!  Do yours stay out all year Robert?  I thought they were tender so they spend winter in the greenhouse.

I plant them and forget them; I had no idea they were supposed to be tender, and they've survived several winters, plus occasional waterlogging. Whether they're as hardy in pots I have no idea. I'll have to save some seed; I hadn't realised they were that easy. It'll save me spending money on more bulbs.

				fantastic!
I have Eucomis Pole-Evansii which has flowered for the first time this year. The strap-like leaves are about 2 foot long and the white flowers are stunning...
Eveyone should have Eucomis in their garden (good for underplanting bananas!!!)

Yippee, not so tender after all!  Think I will get them in the ground when they have finished flowers, mulch well over winter and enjoy them next year without all the effort! ;D

Here's a closeup. If I can get viable seed, then maybe I'll have loads in a couple of years!
