Thanks Ace. I am pleased, they have been flowering for weeks. More questions Ace. Do they die down, do I need to do anything to protect them?
Regards Lorna.

I bought one of these last year, it flowered well too, Unfortunately, I seem to have lost it now, perhaps the very cold temperatures last winter killed it  :'(
Will be interested to see any more comments too!

Yes they die back in the winter, and depending on which part of the part of the country you are from they are reasonably hardy, but not very fast in bulking up, I do not know if I have the cherry brandy variety in the garden but the rest of the gauras we have do well in the borders filling in the open spaces. Divide them in the spring, I usually put the divisions in pots with a good compost to give them a better start, then keep them under cover for a few weeks before planting them out.

Oh, another thing which is handy nowadays, they are very drought resistant.

Thanks once again Ace. They were only small plants when daughter bought them and I put one in the centre of a half barrel container and one in the centre of a large pot, I didn't know anything about them but  the label read...Plant in patio containers, planted with other patio plants will fill container with colour all season long.. I  think I did the right thing as they have been super.
