Oh Tim, I'm jealous!
So am I! Really going to have to rethink my greenhouse growing for next year. Have plenty of chillis and toms coming - but no big peppers or aubs! Might just not bother.... :-\
Either jealous or depressed ... :-\ I have one tiny aubergine off 4 plants !
Sight of wondrous beauty Tim. Info please? Variety, when sown, heated greenhouse earlier on?...........and, any seeds to spare ;D
I was afraid someone might ask that. For some reason, my aub records were a bit careless this year - to say the least! But, roughly -
1. These happen to be Slim Jim - but my favourite in Thai Long Green, which we've been picking for some time. SJ are not ready yet. Orient Express is another usefully early one. Being slim these are all quicker than the fatties. My other successes have been with Mohican & Snowy.
2. Sown 26/3? Propagator. Then heated bench at 60F. Put out in the cold 'house 25/5?
3. Regrettably, no seed left - I was using up 2005 vintage.
4. The ones near the door have done best - a bit more breeze? And less crowded than down in the jungle, which is also more shaded for the cus. But, once again, uncomfortably close, even at 16" spacing. Two to three to a growbag is a joke!
But why not do as I do? Every year I back up a number of things with bought-in plants - Toms, Aubs, Brassica. And SimpsonsSeeds are great for the indoor plants.
