Title: A real sign of Spring
Post by: Gardengirl on March 30, 2004, 15:43:39
Having a look round the garden this afternoon and noticed this little beauty.  Dashed for my camera and it obligingly waited for me.

A male Pea*ock butterfly I believe. :-\ (Put the asterisk in to fool the censors ;D) Any experts know if I'm right.

I have no idea who he is, but he sure is gorgeous! What's he sitting on?

He's sitting on a white daff Aqui which has got a bit battered by the wind.  If you are wondering what the object is beside the flowers it is the top of one of my solar lights.

I think I may have seen one of those flitting around the garden today, along with 2 lime green/yellow flutterbyes.  No idea what they could be, I am as knowledgable with butterflys as I am with birds.  Also, loads of great big bumblling bumble bees.  I keep asking them to nip off to my allotment and play with my broad bean flowers, so fingers crossed.

Great photo by the way  ;D
