Title: Just dug my potaotoes
Post by: laurieuk on August 01, 2006, 15:25:17
This is how the soil looks after I have just dug my 2nd early Rocket potatoes.  At least I did not have to dry them before putting them in the sack. ??? ??? ;D ;D(http://img314.imageshack.us/img314/8193/1000091se6.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

my soil is like dust - I'm sweeping it off my potatoes rather than digging  :-\

Mine were first early Rocket and first time I have tried them, I was a little disappointed at the flavour, maybe I'll try second early next year. :)

My soil's still like dust despite a bit of rain over the last couple of days. The stream's running normally again which presumably means that the water table's back up to that level at least, maybe 2-3 feet below the surface.

Yep, my soil looked very similar last week when I dug the first of my Kestrel 2nd earlies. Any digging has now been postponed until the autumn rains soften the concrete a bit!

Cheers,
Rob ;)
