Title: Bordeaux Mixture
Post by: Rox on July 31, 2006, 10:01:20
Does anyone know from the time of spraying tomatoes with Bordeaux mixture, how many days one should wait before it's safe to harvest and eat the tomatoes? Many thanks in advance! :D

I dont think you have to wait, just make sure you wash the fruits thoroughly before you eat them.

Bordeaux Mixture isnt systemic, it just coats the surfaces of the plant it comes into contact with. This is how it helps to control blight, and why is isnt totaly effective in doing so. You should reapply regularly whilst the blight threat is about.

Hope this helps

I think you can eat them right away (I do so I hope so!) but of course you have to wash them as it lies on the surface. I wash them even after a long time between spraying & picking for this reason... you can still see it there after heavy rain.

Aha, same as GC says!

May I confirm that there is NO 'harvest interval'?

Just wash it!
