Title: SOS Supersprout
Post by: grawrc on July 30, 2006, 17:16:09
Sarah where do you get your U-shaped metal "pegs" for holding down mesh etc? I've just done a tour of GCs I normally get them from and none were to be had. So if you have an online source I'd get them from there.

I've now received them. What a service! Free postage, delivered in 24 hours + and email to say they were on their way. Well done Birstall. I'll certainly go back to them again. :) :)

BTW I don't work for Birstall and have no connection with them. Didn't know they existed until Crusher told me about them. ::)

Well done crusher, I've been searching for that Birstall link too! :-[ :D
Hope you got plenty anne, mine just get swallowed up - pinning down nets, redirecting squash, anchoring black plastic ... there must be loads under the squash patch to retrieve in the Autumn, but I've run out again!

I ordered 60 but I bet I'll be ordering again soon. BTW tildenet emailed me about  their current "deal" : spend £200 get 15% off. Spend £400 get 20% off. I'm not likely to be doing that kind of spending this month but if anyone needed mesh etc and could put in a joint order with one or 2 others it would be worthwhile.

OK send me back to fantasyville :-[ :P

It's obviously too late now grawc, but did you ever consider using metal coat hangers cut in two for your u-shaped pegs?

I tried that sprout, but was too weedy to use the wire clippers - managed one! :P

Takes too long Sprout. I needed them urgently. It's the kind of thing I might get time for in the winter. Actually we have a huge roll of wire and use it to make cloche supports etc but just no time at the mo. Flat out harvesting, sowing and weeding.
