lying in bed with the window open listening to the rain :D
that's going to be me in a few minutes. I am SO happy ;D
Lish Hi, lucky you with the rain, we are supposed to get some more tomorrow morning. email on te way ;D ;D Buddy.
Just had a peek out of the window and it is fine mist, not enough to wet my appetite, hope it p's down when I sleep ;D
laid on the sofa, with window open - suddenly cool air is blowing through and .. and... it's ... yes ... it's RAINING !!!!! Hurray, 'bout time, although I don't think it's going to last long.
It is pleasantly cool this morning though - lovely ! And even 1mm of rain is better than none I guess.
;D
Was on a night shift last night, watched the rain pouring down for some time!
This morning it's sunny and warm...perfect!
;)
The overnight rain missed us and this morning after waiting for six weeks it rained.......for 10 minutes, still pleased for the rest of you, but send some this way.
It vaguely rained, on and off for quite a while yesterday, but not really anywhere near enough. Now the sun us cracking the slates again.

No!
Ugh!
Not
Knotweed!!! But yes! It's coming up through the tarmac on Aldi's carpark :o
;D
I've almost forgotten what rain sounds like. Had a few spots 2 days ago but we're back to drought conditions again. :(
We've had rain for two nights running, but I'm not sure how much. Yesterday the allotment looked as parched as ever, and there were pools in the stream bed, but it had already stopped running. We'll need a fair few nights of that to make any real difference. My Victoria plum is shedding all its leaves and needs urgent watering.
My old apple tree's shedding its apples :o
I've lost my, new this year, tiny cherry tree :( Was so chuffed to have a tree actually planted in the front garden instead of in a pot.
Try again this autumn, and next year, put a bucket of water a day on it.
We've had rain for most of the day here today - Yippee ;D ! There's only me and my plant growing colleague that seem to be pleased about it though! :-\ ::)
you can spot a gardener a mile away in the rain. they're the ones with no hoods, brollies or hats, and big cheesy grins on their faces. x
How I wish it was me.................. ::)

Thats so true! I popped up the road yesterday lunch to pick up some lunch in the rain and I had my cropped jeans, t-vest and flip flops on! All the old dears with winter coats and brollies were looking at me as though I was insane! (Probably right! ;D)
In answer to Val's question about what grows in the desert - perhaps this book would help:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1900988860/202-0479738-6109418?v=glance&n=266239&s=books&v=glance
I have a copy of the previous edition published in 1986 from when I lived there. Only one page about veg though as he says it needs a whole book separately.
Think I might start looking at it again.

Finally some rain here! It is very much needed as the garden is dying! ;D Two days clear up (including today) is starting to make it look a bit more presentable! Dan
Good rainfall yesterday. Absolute deluge here today. Ducked out inbetween rainstorms, met neighbour who said a mate of his at the allotments told him the wet was only reaching down about 1/4 inch. Ended up at my allotment a while later, dug down a wee way...dry as a bone :(
Ah well back at home my pots are looking alot better , the lawn has turned green and the rabbit's holes were full of water lol!
Nice and cool here again today, weather reports said we're in for some more rain too :D
The horses are loving it, less flies to bother them and a nice patch of wet soil to roll in lol
