These are migrants from southern Europe like the hummingbird hawk moths. Another one to watch out for will be the Clouded Yellow, which is a really bright yellow. In some years they arrive in vast numbers; we'll just have to wait and see.

We have seen Painted Ladies several times. I THOUGHT I saw a yellow, but not close enough to be sure. If nothing else is yellow, guess it must have been, but was in the shaded area by the wood

Butterlfies like our patio pots, so on quiet nights, we're lucky.

Our most impressive guests are dragonflies. One got caught in the house today and I ran around opening windows...free at last!

In or near woodland it could well be a Birmstone, which is quite a pale yellow. Clouded Yellows are reallty bright, so once you've seen them you can't mistake them.

This took 11 shots at arm's length. They move more quickly than I do!!

We usually only get Red Admirals & Peacocks on the Buddleia. Sudden flurry of PLs today.

Must be a good year, never seen so many Peacock's, and Comma's that I hardly ever saw as a youngster now seem quite common!
