Title: Green Woodpecker
Post by: prink13 on July 21, 2006, 15:26:35
Spotted this little guy on an electricity pole the other day, he was highly exciteable and talkative, chirruping away to himself.

OH took these photos, we've seen him again since, isn't he beautiful?

Wonder how good I would be at kidnapping? Might think of a plan when I come to share that cuppa with you ;D

What a lovely visitor to have..........oh! I didn't mean Lorna popping in for a cuppa but what a super woody.  I get the greater spotted ones down here and haven't seen a green woodpecker for years, in fact last seen when I lived in Kent.  Your OH did well to get the picture without it flying away.  I hope it is around when I visit.   ;D  ;D ;D

Ho-ho-ho ho ho! Ho-ho-ho ho ho! ... that's the Woody Woodpecker song

Green woodpeckers are impressive birds. We get both greater spotted and green woodpeckers on the allotment site, not bad for SE23.
