Anyone ever made this combination? There are no obvious recipes anywhere.
Made them both seperately, why the need to combine them?

I was thinking of doing this tomorrow,

HI palustris,
couldn't get back last night , couldn't get on site.
Anyway, chucked 6lb of blackcurrants and 1lb of gooseberries into a saucepan,
with 2pts of water,
brought to the boil and then simmered for about 45min (had to put budding gardeners to bed) ;D
Then added 7lb of granulated sugar, and boiled for 30min, stirring constantly.
Took it off the heat and added 1bottle of certo, stirred in well, let it cool in saucepan
for 10min while I got jars and lids togeather , then filled 28 babyfood jars ;D
I was always told that if you put the lids on tight immediately then you don't have to bother with grease proof circles as the jam will keep just as well.
Lastly, tastes lovely BUT, can't taste the gooseberries at all, only the blackcurrants :o ;D ;D ;D
No, but I made jam with fresh blackberries and frozen gooseberries last week, and it turned out pretty well. I'm starting to think that anything goes well with gooseberries.
Also, it tastes quite like Ribena. *boggle*
