Title: too many flowers on my toms?
Post by: adrianhumph on July 17, 2006, 15:27:20
Hi all,  :D
I have 3 gartenperle tumbling tom plants that are covered in flowers, at least 30 sets per plant  :o  Some have set & the toms are fattening up, should I be thinking about removing some of the other flowers  ???

                                                                                   Adrian.

don't know whether i should or shouldn't mate, but i haven't.  if i find a truss hasn't set then i chop it off.

and i'm removing nasty dead/dying foilage, but apart from that i'm leaving everything alone to do its own thing.

picked my first tom yesterday - see the gallery.  i might grow one of these bushes again but not the current 7 !

hope that helps.

I wouldn't on a big truss variety like GartenPearl, but would on some of the big Fruited varieites like Oxheart!
