Title: new hens!
Post by: kitty on July 16, 2006, 20:20:08
after making the coop and the run  from scratch ,making it fox proof and having our new next door neighbour announce that 'when he does a job he does it properly!'
what COULD he mean....a**e... ::)
anyway-after he'd assured me that it was a fox disaster waiting to happen...
and after ringing the poultry chap that was going to supply me with bantys 3 times and finally getting his wife who said-well-i dont care what he said to you-we are going out this afternoon so you cant collect them...
b****r that for a game of soldiers..after all a sales a sale!
i rang another man who happily sold me 2 araucanas and 2 wyandottes...all p.o.l. and very happily ensconced in their new (fox proof )billet...so-we now got hens!!wahaaaaay!and they were cheaper than the first blokes.......
jus awaiting the first eggys!
we kept bantys about 20 years ago...i know 4 is not the biggest flock in the world-but its a start!
