Title: what is this?
Post by: flossie on July 16, 2006, 17:24:56
I was given a tray of these; I thought they were asters...
Now they have funny little yellow flowers like sprouting broccoli inside!
Can we eat them?

Well I think they are some sort of brassica - the flowers are correct.  I would say it is a cabbage or similar which has gone to seed.....

I agree, it looks like a chinese cabbage that has bolted. Mind you, the broccoli bit is very nice to eat. It's supposed to be a delicacy.  :P
