Title: Chiili's dropping flowers.
Post by: Crash on July 13, 2006, 15:57:22
Am I over/underwatering? I have a dozen chilli plants, most are about 1m tall and healthy looking but I only have 2 chillies lots of the flowers and stems are dropping off. Any ideas?

Are they getting pollinated?

I tickle all my flowers with a cotton bud and that seems to be working well.

I'm concerned that stems are dropping off. What's your watering regime Crash?  I tend to keep mine on the dry side which seems to suit them and I'm already eating fresh chillies.

Where are they, inside or out?

Inside and watering I did read on here to keep them on the dry side so thats what I've been doing. The plant seems really healthy very green and strong stems, I had loads of flowers and thought I was going to have a bumper harvest  :(
I am wondering if they are not getting enough sunlight. The windowledge they are on only gets the sun in the afternoon. Sorry delete that. I also have some on a south facing window and they have done the same.

Poor polination would be my guess.
