Well actually it is supposed to be!
Aunts hubby's 70th, wanted a cake and asked me to do it, hadn't got a clue about cricket, but after research I now know that you are not allowed to water the pitch during a game! (amazing the stuff you read about)
So here is the cake, wasn't sure wether to put it here or in recipes, but I guess tis a pic or 2!

Wow, that is wonderful DP, just had to minimise the photo when my lad came in as he would want one and I could never do anything like that. Brilliant! :)
Wish you lived nearer, I am looking for a biffday cake for Wednesday. You are one talented lady DP. thats a super cake, well done.
that's a beauty DP.
Congrats to the OH as well, both on reaching the magical 70 and on having you as OH.
;D
Fantastic DP, he's one lucky laddie :)
Hope you have a great day and many more happy years together :-*
That is a brilliant cake DorisP. You have done a fantastic job and it looks so professional. The detail looks amazing! How on earth did you do all the little accessories? :D busy_lizzie
If you watered the pitch that would have a drstic effect on the way the ball bounced. If it was allowed that would open the way to all sorts of bribery to get it watered on the day that favoured a particular team!
Thanks all , the recipient was well chuffed! ;D
Oh and Mrs KP, not yet reached the magical 70, cake was for my Uncle, I still have a few years to go to get there! ;D
What a fantastic cake DP. How could you bear to cut into it? Was Uncle Bowled over? Who took the wicket? :D
Mwahahahahahaha ;D
Amazing DP - you are sooooo clever :D Are all those accessories your own design - truly inspirational :) :) :)
GG, they are! Daughter managed to scoff a knee pad thingy (see how I am up on cricket!!) at the party, she had been eyeing it up for a few days so was well chuffed to get a taste of the sweet stuff! ;D
