Horsdean Allotments saved! And we are celebrating!
Many of you will remember our fight last year, to save one of the best kept allotment sites in Brighton from becoming a park and ride car park at the hands of Brighton & Hove City Council. On Dec 7th 2005, after 11 months of solid campagning, we were victorious and the ludicrius sheme was shelved.
Last year we held our first open day to raise awareness of our plight. This year we are holding our second open day, as a celebration and thank you to everyone who supported us (we had supposrt from far and wide...even as far away as Australia!)
We hope as many people as possible will pop by to say hello and see what a beautiful site could have been lost forever under grim grey concrete.
Horsdean Allotments Open Day - Sunday 16th July 2006 - 11.30am - 4.00pm Further details are available here: http://www.horsdeanallotments.org.uk (http://www.horsdeanallotments.org.uk)
Well saved !!

Well done.
Such a pity Brighton is so far away or we would have loved to come along but we hope the day goes well for all involved.
Congratulations. A happy ending.
Congratulations
Hi noparkandride :)
I`m really pleased that it worked out for you. It shows that its worthwhile standing up for ourselves when things we care about are threatened.
We may look to you for tips in the future.
