I do love interesting foliage and flowers, and you can't beat these prickly customers.
Teasel, a common weed to some, but I love them and so do the buzzy things!

Eryngiums are bright green now, but as they mature the flowers look as though they have been dipped in blue paint!

And this prickly thistle whose name escapes me is great with a lovely slump of spikey leaves at the base and then these prickly orbs at the top.

Fabulous selection E-J
I do love teasels too, we always had them sprinkled around the veg garden when I was wee, and would shake the flower heads in corners to make sure of a constant supply for the buzzy things. Nice to see them fresh and green.
I think the globe thistle is Echinops 8)
Is the second one eryngium?
Very nice.

Very nice indeed. I've got echinops and I've just sown some Scotch thistles. Hope they turn out as well as yours. :)

Let me know if nowt appears - the seed is still within its 'sow by' dates on the pack :-[
Are you sure this is the right time of year to sow?
