Title: Moth
Post by: Robert_Brenchley on July 02, 2006, 21:25:53
I've no idea what this is; it's been flying round the plot for a while (and proving elusive whenever I got the camera out), but I don't have a dedicated moth book. I'll have to get one.

It's a skipper butterfly but i'm not sure which one there are several. Probably a large skipper.

I was wondering; I'd assumed it was a moth because I didn't recognise it. The antennae didn't look like one when I looked at the pic though. It looks as though it's a Small Skipper, but it's a bit unexpected in central Birmingham. We do get the odd Common Blue on the site though, which is another grass feeder, and with all the waste ground in the area it's not too surprising. Thanks.
