Title: red cabbage
Post by: dirtyfingernails on July 02, 2006, 08:33:44
Hi all, first time I've grown red cabbage - the leaves are growing nicely but there's no hearts - is this normal at this time of year? if not can I do anything to make them "heart up"?

picture attached, thought the leaves looked lovely with the sun shinning through them

They do look lovely, and perfect for the time of year. Give them a few months, they heart up, honest! :)

ok then, I'll take a chill pill and stop worrying - thanks

ps, these have been growing under fleece and I think that's probably why they're doing well, the other brassicas seem to be about 3 weeks behind the covered ones so I've now covered them all
