They're back! One of my favourite birds, the lapwing, looking for nesting sites in the fields beyond the garden wall. Just love their call, and their spring aerobatic display is truly amazing.

Lapdancing lapwings from lapland! aren't they beautiful. (Sorry, saw a whole flock in the field once and couldn't remember their names, the lapdancing thing is the only way I could get it stuck in my brain...)

Green plover, peewit. peewee, peeweet or lapwings (and that's only the names I know) doesn't matter what they're called they are one of my favourite birds too.
