Title: replanting potato plants
Post by: dicky on June 27, 2006, 18:44:03
Someone told me that thye had seen this on gardeners world, just wondering if anyone had tried it.

I dug up a plant today, got a good yeild but about 10 very small tubers stayed on the root, as it was largely undamaged and had plenty of top growth I buried it again and watered it in

Anyone had any success / failure with this

In no position to dispute that, but the demand of all that top growth, on even temporarily dried out roots would seem pie in the sky to me.

Seems I'm wrong??

I replanted the first plant I lifted, it is still alive and green a fortnight on, though I have not re-lifted so cannot comment on yield.

I'm giving it a try too, but don't hold out much hope of success unless we get some rain!
