Title: Runner bean pollination
Post by: Silverfox on June 26, 2006, 14:19:05
Having started to cultivate a corner of the garden for veg etc, I seem to be having trouble with my runners not setting their flowers., so, having looked back in the archives I find that I am not the only one to have this problem. I seem to recall reading some years ago that spraying the plants with a suger water solution helps to attract the bees which seem to be sparse at the moment. Any thoughts on this would be welcome

Hi silverfox, some folk spray in the evening with ordinary water to encourage pollination (I never have, but have an open site with lots of flowers). See also:

Hope the pollination picks up for you :)
