I saw thee most humungous pair of big pants :o on a washing line on my way back from school today...I just had to share that with you !!! ;D ;D ;D
;D Were they fully inflated in this wind heldi? ;)
Cor blimey were they not! I'm surprised the garden didn't take off and sail away !
Probably there to scare the pants off any would be burglars :o I've heard of folk putting size 12 boots :o on show in the front porch to scare off burglars, probs works too ;D
When I first moved to Lincoln, my wife took me on a guided tour of the City in an open-topped bus. It stops outside the obvious points of interest (Castle, Cathedral etc) and one stop is to show you part of the old Roman wall which is in the garden of a private house.
On the day in question, there was (you've guessed it) a humongous pair of pants on the washing line in said garden.
Years later we were at a wedding and got into conversation with one of my wife's colleagues about the open-top bus. "Oh, I see that a lot" she said "It stops outside my house several times a day"
We just gave each other a knowing look!
Mwahahahaha Pete! We calls em apple catchers in my family! ;D

EJ says that they bolted cos they were sown at the wrong time, so you can have your stirfries in the autumn (and I've had to have mine tonight - loads of it - wind's picking up again, this part of the country ;))
big pants are called belly warmers!!
no.....arm pit huggers! ;D
;D Very appropriately "bloomers" ;) busy_lizzie
bras are ......over shoulder boulder holders.
Not just the ladies that wear big pants! One of my favourite residents asked me where he could buy some new summer drawers, as M and S have gone trendy, and our local drapers have closed. Apparently the ones that need replacing are waist to knee, airtex with room to move!!! What a picture :) :)
In the Forces, they were Passion Crushers?
Tim. A'hem, wonder how Mum managed to have nine of us?? ::) ::)
Waist to knee Cookie? That's nearly a sleeping bag!! I think, in the interests of future generations that these 'big pants' should be exempt from inheritance tax, should be the main item in next weeks buy one get one free at the CO-OP and should be made compulsory as part of the dress code for the grand Opening of Parliament (televised of course). That way we would all know that those MP's, mostly full of their own importance ( and other things I won't go into) were all wearing HUGE PANTS!!!! Lance
My Wife's were khaki. Anything worse??
( I didn't see them!!)
That figures Tim, the chap in question was a Major in the Royal Horse Artillery!!!
