Title: Old Roses
Post by: Robert_Brenchley on June 16, 2006, 18:30:10
Rosa Mundi, Penelope and an unidentified Alba. Penelope is past its best; I'll get another pic when the next flush of bloom comes.

The Alba appears to be Rosa alba maxima, otherwise known as the Jacobite Rose and various other names.

Thanks Robert, does the perfume match its beauty?

it does on a good day. I find plant scents are very much dependent on the weather; the classic this year was two Dragon Arum blooms; I couldn't smell the first one at all, the second was quite distinct from twenty yards. i've no idea what made the difference.
