Title: New Greenhouse
Post by: sandersj89 on June 15, 2006, 21:06:41
Exciting day today, my new greenhouse has started to be built. It is actually replacing an old lean too house that had seen better days. This one is much higher as it follows the roofline of the utility room.

I am having it made by a local chippy who is making a fantastic job of it. New floor goes in tomorrow and then the frame is to be painted prior to glazing. The frame is all treated so it should last a good few years I hope!

I am going to make the shelving and do the internal fit out so it will be ready for next years cropping!

That is very nice Jerry. Blends in with the surrounding buildings/house.

Oh for a talented local chippy like yours jerry!
Looks fabulous, wonder what you'll be growing up to the roof?

Thanks all.

I am very pleased with it and the extra height. It also lets loads more light into the kitchen.

I am toying with idea of a grape vine in there.........

Looks great Jerry.  Its wonderful to have something made by hand rather than one of the aluminium ones (like I have) still, maybe other half will get around to a wooden one.....one day maybe ;)

A grape would be great under the roof but you will have to be very severe with the pruning or it will swamp that greenhouse!
