Title: West Dean gardens near Chichester
Post by: adrianhumph on June 11, 2006, 15:24:25
Hi all,  :D
Visited these gardens this week, well worth a visit if you are in the vicinity, they have some very well restored victoran glass houses, full of cucumbers ,peppers, melons grapes etc.  Also they have an immaculately presented vegetable garden with everything looking in perfect condition, not to mention many fruit trees trained in all sorts of ways. I have added a picture of some poppies,  which looked lovely.

                                                                                     Adrian.

I stayed there on a course once years ago; the highlight was using a toilet which had been made specially for Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales. From what i remember it had white tiles with blue dolphins, and it was giant-size; if it was made to measure, that guy had the biggest bum in all history.
