Title: Honesty
Post by: Georgie on June 06, 2006, 20:26:10
I was delighted when the Honesty flowered this year but I'm even more pleased with the purple seed pods and the way they catch the early evening sun.  Guess what will be on offer in the swap shop come autumn?   ;)  G x

Honestly? ;D
Was in the country yesterday and my friends' seed pods are also purple - but I'd never noticed before. Amazing how you can miss lovely things, one of the great things about your photos :)

I'll happily send you some seed when it is ripe so you can have another go if you like, Marianne.

Hi Lorna and AB.  This is what they look like in flower.  I will be overrun with seed in a couple of months and you are both welcome to some.   :)  G x

Hiya Georgie  :D  Unfortunately I live on a boat now and do not think I have room for a pot with honesty in.  :'(  I suppose I could sow it along the tow path and call it my garden.  Thanks Georgie, I will take up your offer but I am afraid I do not have anything to swap for.   :D ;D

Haven't seen Honesty for years, it used to just come up in the garden like a weed at one time, but they looked so nice, both in flower and when they pod and such a lovely colour.  I am quite interested in growing some flowers I can dry and this would be a prime candidate, so if you do have some spare seed Georgie would really like some - you will probably be inundated!  :) busy_lizzie

Hello to you Lorna  :D ;D

I really have never been away.  It's just that I do not have a pc on board ship.  When we have more pennies, we will look into getting a wireless pc with access to the internet.  :)   I can access it from work from 8am to 3.30pm.

I love A4A and all the good friends I have made on here.
Take care  ;D xx

I've added Marianne and Busy Lizzie to the list of people who want seed.  Each pod has between 8-10 seeds and I have three plants so hopefully I'll be able to cope with demand.  And don't worry, I won't be looking for any swaps.  :)

Marianne, I know you now live on a houseboat - I was asking how it was going in antother thread!   ;D

Marianne. Yes I also knew you now lived on a houseboat. Maybe I didn't word it properly. I meant hope you are enjoying living on the boat  ;D

Georgie. They look as if they grow quite high, I am trying to make a more detailed plan for next year so that I get  better looking borders.
Love Lorna.

Hi Lorna.  Well mine are in pots and they grow about two feet high and spread about one foot.  Honesty is a biennial so if you plant the seed outside where you want it to flower as soon as I send it, hopefully it will flower for you next year.  After that it should self-seed quite merrily.   ;D
