Thanks supersprout, my Dad keeps telling me I should buy one rather than digging everything over by hand so I might take a look at the article. :)

I don't use one myself a-b, but lots of peeps have been asking questions here. If you want, I can mail you the Which? report - a bit old (2003) - on cultivators, it's got lots of good tips on pros and cons. PM me if interested :)

Thanks supersprout, I'll take a look at the magazine and if I need further convincing then I might ask for the report. :) My Dad thinks I enjoy the punishment of digging over by hand, he can't understand why I haven't bought one yet. :)
